Join the Museum of Music History (MOMH) as our new General Manager, guiding us through an exciting phase of growth. As a hybrid worker, you’ll split your time between home and our archive locations, delving into a rich collection spanning centuries of musical history.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver MOMH’s strategic plan.
• Participate in quarterly Board Meetings.
• Collaborate with the Chair, Joint Honorary Curators, Advisors, and Volunteers.
• Manage the Collections Curator, advisors, and volunteers, overseeing recruitment, training, and development.

Collection and Exhibition Management:

• Accountable for collection documentation and management.
• Acquire objects or collections, negotiate loans, and oversee cataloguing.
• Ensure engaging physical displays and collaborate with other museums.
• Optimize storage facilities for collection preservation.

Audience and Funding Development:

• Develop and implement marketing and funding strategies.
• Write funding bids, organize fundraising events, and engage with media.
• Network with groups, communities, and businesses to secure sponsorship.
• Enhance imagery, oversee website development, and manage budgets.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong interest in music history.
• Proven track record in marketing and funding development.
• Understanding of unique presentation requirements for collections.
• Ability to share knowledge through various channels.
• High level of professional knowledge.

We Provide:

• Whilst it is expected much of your time would be on site at our archives we offer hybrid working.
• 20 days holiday (pro rata).

Hours:
16 hours (two days) per week, with potential for role development.

Consultancy Fee:
£32-34,000 pro rata, reflecting the part-time commitment.
