CLAUDE DEBUSSY : Jeux. Poème dansé in 1 act by Vaslav Nijinsky.  First performed Paris, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, 15 May 1913 (Saison de Ballets Russes organisée par M. Serge de Diaghilew). Conductor : Pierre Monteux. Choreographer : Vaslav Nijinsky.  Designer : Leon Bakst.
First Young Girl : Tamara Karsavina
Second Young Girl : Ludmila Schollar
A Young Man : Vaslav Nijinsky
First performed in London at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, 25 June 1913 (Sir Joseph Beecham’s Grand Season of Russian Opera and Ballet, organised by M. Serge de Diaghilew). The season also included first British performances of Boris GodunovKhovanshchina and Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Maid of Pskov, all starring Chaliapin.

Serge de Diaghilew). Choreographer : Vaslav Nijinsky. Designer : Nicolas Roerich. Conductor : Pierre Monteux.

First performed  in London at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, 11 July 1913 (Sir Joseph Beecham’s Grand Season [as above]). The first dance rehearsals for the work had taken place at London’s Aldwych Theatre in February 1913, during a Beecham season at Covent Garden which included the first London performances of Der RosenkavalierPetrushka and Nijinsky’s first ballet L’Après-midi d’un faune. The three performances in Paris and the three in London were all that Nijinsky’s Sacre du Printemps received until its attempted reconstruction in 1987.
