In the New Year we shall be mounting a display of dances by the late 19th century French dance composer Waldteufel, the centenary of whose death falls on 12 February. This preliminary selection shows early editions of two Christmas-related works, plus his ever-popular ‘Skaters Waltz’.
1. Christmas Tree. L’Arbre de Noël. Polka pour piano. London, [c.1881]. 2. Christmas Roses (Roses de Noël.) Valse. London, [1890]. 3. Les Patineurs. Valse. London, [1883].
